Weleda Aknedoron Cleansing Lotion

Weleda Aknedoron Cleansing Lotion For Problem Skin £8.75 (Amazon)

I’ve been using Weleda Aknedoron Cleansing Lotion for almost 2 months now and I am very happy with the results. When I first received the bottle I used it both morning and before bed. I have oily/combination skin and am spotty (if you have sensitive/dry skin, use only once daily). The cleansing lotion is amazing. It has helped to clear my skin up, tighten my pores and reduce redness. Now that my skin has improved I only use it before bed. The colour of the lotion is a pale yellow and I think it smells lovely. It smells fresh and natural – like other Weleda products. Most cleansing lotions I have used in the past have dried out my skin but Weleda Aknedoron Cleansing Lotion is gentle on my skin and works! You don’t need to use too much, therefore the bottle can easily last 2 months. The price is well worth the results and a bargain considering how long it can last you. Would I buy Weleda Aknedoron Cleansing Lotion again? Yes, yes, yes! It’s so full of natural goodness, gentle on skin, smells lovely and it works.

Human+Kind In-Shower Body Moisturiser

Human+Kind In-Shower Body Moisturiser £9.95 (Amazon)

This is the first vegan in-shower body moisturiser I have come across. I was very excited to try it as I generally don’t have time to moisturise my whole body everyday. I have quite dry skin – especially on my legs. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It’s not pleasant. It’s smells fresh like cucumber but there is also an after smell of dampness. I know it sounds weird but that’s the only way I can describe it. Human+Kind In-Shower Body Moisturiser is also quite thin and therefore you need to use quite a bit to cover your body evenly. It does make my skin soft and gentle, however my skin does not feel moisturised. I don’t feel like the moisturiser has helped my skin but it also hasn’t made it worse. Would I buy Human+Kind In-Shower Body Moisturiser again? No. It doesn’t moisturise and the smell is unpleasant. I feel like I have wasted my money.

Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC) Super Cover Cream Concealer

Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC) Super Cover Cream Concealer (shade medium) £6.99 (Amazon)

I was super excited to try this concealer but had some reservations. There were only two shades – fair and medium. Usually I can get away with a medium as a concealer providing it has the right base tone. Unfortunately the super cover cream concealer did not. My skin colour base tone is yellow and this was very very pink, therefore would only suit those with a more pink skin tone. However I tried to blend the concealer using different techniques – under my foundation, over my foundation, mixed with my foundation but it just did not work for me. I was very disappointed as I had been eager to try a BWC product. Ignoring the shade issue, the concealer is worthy of its super cover name. It covers everything but then it looks unnatural – it looks like you are wearing a lot of make-up. It smooths on no problem and a little goes a long way. It does get into fine wrinkles and makes them stand out. Would I buy Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC) Super Cover Cream Concealer again? No. Overall it is a heavy concealer and feels cakey. It covers very well but accentuates wrinkles.

PurOrganica Retinol Serum

PurOrganica RETINOL SERUM – Best Treatment for Pigmentation, Acne and Acne Scars, Fine Lines, Wrinkles and Dark Circles – Premium 2.5% Retinol, Vegan £12.95 (Amazon)

I have pretty much finished my bottle already! I have been using PurOrganica Retinol Serum for just over a month now and I’m relatively happy with the results. Within a couple of weeks I started to notice a difference. My skin is softer, looks less dull and generally more youthful. My fine lines have smoothed out and it smells nice too. The liquid is quite gloopy and has lots of air bubbles, which makes using the pipette a little difficult. This also meant I needed to use more than just a few drops in order to give even coverage. The serum is not overly moisturising and was actually quite mattifying which is not great for oily/combination skin, which I have. This meant I had to use more of my daily moisturiser to keep my skin from drying out. Overall its a good product to use. The price is a little more than my usual budget but it is cheaper than other brands. Would I use PurOrganica Retinol Serum again? Yes. Apart from not being overly moisturising and being mattifying (just need a super moisturiser!), it does the job.

Welcome to tryitpanda. My mission here is to create a resourceful space for Vegan Beauty on a Budget. I will be trying different products from skin care to make-up and more. Everyone has a different skin type and colour, so I will suggest whom these products would benefit. I will feature men’s products too (tried by my SO). I look forward to hearing your views and answering any questions you have 🙂
